Leading into a Topic

Small Talk Example:

A: Hey there! How's your day going so far?

B: Pretty good, thanks. How about you?

A: Can't complain. So, have you noticed anything interesting about our surroundings lately?

B: Hmm, not really. What do you mean?

A: Well, I was thinking about how much construction has been going on around here.

It seems like every time I turn a corner, there's a new building going up.

B: Oh yeah, I have noticed that now that you mention it. I wonder what they're all building.

A: Yeah, me too. It seems like they're trying to turn this area into some sort of urban hub or something.

B: Maybe. But I kinda miss the old, quieter vibe of this place, you know?

A: I get what you mean. Sometimes change can be a little overwhelming.

B: Speaking of change, have you tried any new restaurants in the area lately?

A: Actually, I have. There's this new sushi place that just opened up down the street and it's amazing.

B: Oh really? I'll have to check it out. I love sushi.

A: Yeah, definitely give it a try. Anyway, have you seen any good movies or shows recently?

B: Yeah, I just watched this new documentary about wildlife in Africa. It was really fascinating.

A: That sounds really interesting. I'll have to watch it sometime.

Well, I should probably get going. It was nice catching up with you.

B: Yeah, you too. Take care and let me know how that sushi place is.

A: Will do. See ya later!
B: See ya!

You should avoid politics, religion, sex, appearance, etc. in Small Talk.
